  • cellsDS - v1.3: MIDI Output

    cellsDS version 1.3 is available in the download section. The major new feature is midi-output support using . This new package contains updated documentation, scripts, and roms. If you are upgrading from a previous version, don’t forget to backup your custom scripts and sounds before installing the new version.

    Features include:

    • * Support for MIDI-output. Many of the Lua scripts have been updated with MIDI support.
    • * For developers: More colors, midi output functions, and a few other surprises. See the updated developer’s guide for more information

    If you are upgrading, make sure the midi.txt file is copied to your /cellsDS folder.  If you are installing cellsDS for the first time, unzip the package and copy the cellsDS folder to the root of your card.  If you have problems, check out the forums at https://glitchds.com/forum

    Update: I forgot to mention that there’s a new screen which was added for initiating the WIFI-MIDI connection. Use [L] and [R] shoulder buttons to access the midi page.

      Hi Bret, I noticed that in the sounds folder, the “sound76.raw” file is missing. I checked the other releases of cellsDS and that file has never been included. Does it exist?

      @n/a: It looks like I accidentally skipped a number. I don’t have any sound created for sound76.raw. Sorry!

      Hey, that’s alright, no need to apologize. I just wanted to bring it to attention. (Sorry for also posting this in the forum, as I guess it was not needed too.) Anyway, I guess it is time to update the files and start playing w/ cellsDS 1.3. Thanks for the new release! Also, I just wanted to let you know, this is by far one of the best DS Homebrew App for Music Creation! Very inspirational! I can’t stop writing music w/ it!

      Hey, really cool app that you wrote here :) But could you implement an option for left-handed people? It’s quite hard to change sounds with the D-Pad and the stylus in the same hand :)

      are you still trying to get BPM timing better in glitchds? I found this site which had some info on time scaling and the like, http://www.bottledlight.com/ds/index.php/System/Timers … Hope its a help.

      This is my favorite homebrew application, game or music tool. Very nice. I’m hoping version 1.4 is still in the works…?
