Quotile - new PC MIDI sequencer written in Processing
Posted on January 8th, 2009 4 commentsI’m happy to announce my new PC MIDI sequencer: “Quotile”. In short, it’s a strange little PC step sequencer where patterns can be mutated, stretched, or otherwise modified using an old-school command line interface.
As usual, it’s completely free, and it’s now publicly available for testing. So far, only PC users have been successful in running it. It’s programmed in Processing using the Midibus library.
If you unearth any bugs, please report them here or at the email posted at quotile-sequencer.com.

This tool make no fun. Making music like a programmer is not the right way to create music. At least for me
I love cellsDS and your othr tools….they make fun

Hello A128,
I hear you loud and clear. I like the instant gratification that glitchDS offers. I built Quotile for my own use because I wanted the ability to evolve a pattern over time and have complete control. I currently have it hooked up to a MIDI to CV converter driving a modular synth. Rest assured, I’ll keep exploring more “fun” musical tools.
Thanks,

Man great work, I admire a lot what u do, keep on like that, you and Wesen had inspired me to learn processing, arduino and pure data, I’ve been playing in a metal band for a long time and now than i don’t, i love experimenting with this tools ( Computer programer too, but working as IT)
Thanks man

I disagree with A128 - this is a fun tool for taking an existing melody or beat and stretching, echoing and nudging into something completely new. It’s usefulness in a live scenario might be limited, but as a creative tool I think it’s very useful.
